METHODOLOGY

Based on published X visibility concepts + $0 guest-token live checks

This checker now uses $0 guest-token: x.com/{username} for profile availability, twitter.com/i/search/typeahead.json for search suggestions (exact match), api.twitter.com/2/search/adaptive.json for search visibility — cached 1h, rate limit 10/10s. Ghost/thread is derived from profile+search. Reply ranking remains conversation-specific and requires actual tweet URL. The Under the Hood report is processed locally in your browser.

Shadowban.online is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by X. No X password, login cookie, or paid API connection is required for this local report analysis + $0 live guest-token checks, cached 1h.

Report findings reflect only the imported report period. Manual visibility observations are user-recorded and cannot establish every X ranking or enforcement decision.

A clearer way to investigate

How the X visibility check works

01

Import your X report or enter a username

Select your Under the Hood JSON file to review its account and post labels. You can also enter a username to prepare public visibility links.

02

Complete the public visibility checks

Open your profile, recent-post search, and optional individual post in a private browser window or while signed out. Record what you observe.

03

Review report labels and observations

Read the imported account-level and post-level labels alongside your own observations. One unsuccessful visibility check does not prove a shadowban.

Methodology and limitations

What this X visibility check can tell you

A visibility check is a limited diagnostic, not an official account-status decision. A missing search result, lower engagement, or an unavailable public endpoint does not by itself prove that a platform has restricted an account or post.

What the X checker tests

The X report review reads the Under the Hood JSON file you select in your browser. It displays the report period, post count, account-level labels, post-level labels, explanations, reported visibility effects, and included post IDs where available. The public review prepares links to your profile, recent-post search, and an optional individual post. You open those links yourself while signed out and record what you observe. The tool does not independently measure X search indexing or recommendation distribution.

What the result cannot establish

  • It cannot prove that an account has been officially shadowbanned.
  • It cannot determine every ranking or recommendation decision.
  • It cannot explain a drop in views or engagement by itself.
  • An unavailable or malformed source must be treated as inconclusive.

How to investigate a visibility problem

  1. Check the platform's own account-status notices, policy messages, and privacy settings.
  2. Compare more than one public post and, where appropriate, repeat the check later.
  3. Consider ordinary causes such as protected content, search relevance, deleted posts, indexing delays, or temporary service errors.
  4. Use the platform's official support or appeal process if it displays an account or content notice.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Can this checker confirm that my account is shadowbanned?

No. An independent public checker cannot confirm every platform restriction. It can report only the specific public signals or text patterns described in its methodology. Treat the result as a diagnostic clue, not an official platform verdict.

Does low reach or low engagement prove a visibility restriction?

No. Reach and engagement can change for many reasons, including audience interest, posting frequency, content topic, competition, privacy settings, and recommendation systems. A metric by itself does not establish that an account has been restricted.

What does an imported X report label mean?

An imported label is an item included in the official report for its stated reporting period. Its meaning and reported effect are shown alongside the label. It should be interpreted in the context of that report and does not, by itself, describe every post, viewer, or your current account status.

Do I need to provide my social media password?

No. This checker does not ask for a social media password, login code, or session cookie. For X, your username and optional post URL are used in your browser to prepare links. An imported Under the Hood JSON report is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded by this checker. The other pattern-review tools analyze the text you enter on this page. Review the Privacy Policy for details about server requests, logs, and retention.

What should I do if the result is inconclusive?

Do not treat an inconclusive result as a restriction. Check the platform’s own account-status messages and help resources, review whether the content is public, and try again later if a temporary service problem prevented the check.

X Shadowban Checker: Test Your Account Visibility

Are your posts missing from X search results? Are you concerned that your account visibility has changed? An X shadowban test can help you investigate available visibility signals and understand what your account report reveals.

Shadowban.online provides an independent X visibility checker. It analyzes an X Under the Hood report that you upload and guides you through public profile, search, and individual post checks. You do not need to provide your X password.

How Does the X Shadowban Checker Work?

The checker combines information from your official X visibility report with observations that you record during a signed-out review.

STEP 01

Upload Your X Report

Import your X Under the Hood JSON report to review its reporting period, account labels, and post-level findings.

STEP 02

Review Public Visibility

Open your public profile and recent-post search links while signed out of X. Check what is actually visible.

STEP 03

Review Your Findings

Compare the imported report with your recorded observations to understand the visibility signals available to you.

What Is an X Shadowban?

A shadowban is a commonly used term for situations where users believe their content or accounts receive reduced visibility without an obvious account suspension. People may use the term when posts are difficult to find through search or when content appears to receive less distribution.

However, lower engagement or a missing search result does not automatically mean that an account has been restricted. Search relevance, privacy settings, sensitive-content settings, and other platform factors can affect what people see.

Can a Shadowban Checker Confirm an Official Restriction?

No independent checker can access every internal X ranking, recommendation, or enforcement decision. Shadowban.online analyzes the information included in your uploaded report and organizes your own public visibility observations.

A missing search result or an unavailable post is not sufficient evidence to establish an official account restriction. Always consider multiple signals and review notifications or account status information available directly from X.
